The Boston Red Sox will defeat the Los Angeles Angels in the ALDS. The Red Sox are the underdogs in the series by Vegas oddmakers and by sports analysts around the globe. Here are my reasons to why the Boston Red Sox will beat the Angels. (Note: I have no bias towards either team, I am a Detroit Tigers fan)
If I’m not mistaken the Boston Red Sox have won the World Series twice in the last four years. David Ortiz, Jason Varitek, and Tim Wakfield are key pieces to this team and have been through two championships with the Sox already. The experience many of the young pitchers got through last years World Series Title is impossible to match. Expect experience to be a large factor in this series and in key situations in close games. Pedroia, and Jacoby Ellsbury both had fantastic postseason performances last year and should have similar results this year.
The Angels seemingly had the AL West wrapped up half way through the season while the Boston Red Sox had to battle tough teams on a regular basis. The Red Sox are a much better team for facing the Rays, Yankees, and a streaking Blue Jays team through the second half of the season. The Angels haven’t played a meaningful game in months while the Red Sox had to make the playoffs by winning the Wild Card.
